Solution focused hypnotherapy involves focusing on the solution to whatever problem or obstacle you are looking to overcome, rather than dwelling too much on the issue itself.

At each one-hour session we will both look at what has been good about your week, examine in further detail how the brain works in relation to the issue you wish to resolve and look at what changes you can make in the coming seven days to help you move closer to achieving your goals.
Then you will undergo hypnotherapy, usually for between 25-30 minutes.
What to expect from trance
There are many misconceptions about trance, based mainly on stage shows and Paul McKenna’s TV programmes from the early 1990s.
Don’t worry, you definitely will not emerge from your session thinking you are a chicken or barking like a dog every time someone says walkies!
These are entertainment shows where participants are hypnotised to make an audience laugh and not to be confused in anyway with what will happen to you here.
Trance is actually a very ordinary experience in many ways.
We go into trance all the time in our everyday lives such as when we are watching television, driving a car, riding a bike or even making a cup of tea.
It occurs when the conscious and subconscious parts of the brain come together to concentrate on the same thing simultaneously.
It is very easy to contrive and while you are in this relaxed state I will have greater access to the subconscious mind, meaning you are able to utilise the benefits of positive suggestions.
Nobody can be hypnotised if they don’t wish to be and similarly a hypnotherapist does not have the power or ability to make you do anything you don’t want to.
